The MERT Club is a community dedicated to all those who served in the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) between 2006 and 2014 in Afghanistan. This includes personnel from all three armed services who played a vital role during this operational period.

During their service, MERT teams conducted numerous missions, utilising Chinook helicopters to evacuate critically injured patients from the battlefield to hospital. Operating often in challenging and austere environments, they recorded a remarkable 6,850 priority patients, providing life-saving care in the most demanding conditions.

The mission of The MERT Club is to reunite colleagues who shared this unique and challenging role, and to celebrate and reflect on the extraordinary experiences that defined their service.

The MERT Club is a private community where members can connect, share their experiences, reunite with old friends, and celebrate their achievements. It serves as a platform to preserve the valuable clinical and operational knowledge of MERT personnel and promotes positive wellbeing by supporting and signposting members in need.
The club also provides networking opportunities and organises in-person and online social events throughout the year, fostering camaraderie and helping to preserve our shared history.
